As we emerge from lockdown, it’s time for a new beginning.

Here in the UK, we have begun to emerge from lockdown. It’s weird, I have just become accustomed to it, that moving out feels a tad scary.

It’s why, I think, my mind needs a refresh. Maybe yours does too.

Your version of a fresh start might mean something completely different to mine. For me, it comprises of two major components:

  • The right amount of energy. Being stuck indoors is draining, but I’ve got used to it. I now need to adjust to the new world we are stepping into.
  • Fresh optimism. It’s hard not to be cynical in a pessimistic world. Everything is shit, isn’t it? Well, I’d instead like pear into society fresh-faced, putting doubts behind me.

For me, freshening my mind means ditching my old wiring for a new set — one that I don’t want to change any time soon. A clear mind means higher focus and an increased ability to enjoy myself.

Of course, now is an appropriate time to hit F5. But then, so is any. Life can leave you feeling rundown, as the repetition kicks in. Waking up feels more laborious, and you just feel bleugh.
