The Graduate Gap

Struggling with post-university life? You’re not alone.

As we all grow older, fun times are few and far between. Moreover, they appear somewhat juvenile as we assimilate into our adult lives.

Having recently finished university, I have found a gaping hole in my life. For one, the lack of once constant guidance, a path, is one of the reasons I feel like I am aimlessly wandering through this so-called life.

Albeit on a much grander scale, it feels being subbed off from a football game. You’re so immersed in the game that once you are taken off, it feels disheartening.

The thrill is over, and you didn’t allow any time to prepare.

This is a matter not talked about near enough, as an Independent study found that around 90% of students feel the matter should be discussed more.

The main feeling of dissatisfaction comes from a lack of purpose. To come from such a high of graduating and for most, completing your educational journey, to struggling to find a job is like a slowly infectious wound.

Universities: what they do to help.
