The Most Important Thing You Need to Do to Get More Views
You wouldn’t buy something if you didn’t know what it was for, so why should someone read an article with no takeaway?
No one is going to click on your article if you can’t offer them anything. As Tim Denning says: “It’s not about you and your personal essay to nowhere.”
I love reading and writing about personal experiences, but they mean nothing to anyone if you don’t provide a lesson or something actionable by the end. Whenever I do, the lessons I’ve learned tend to come to fruition through my writing.
Regardless, offering something to take away is essential in the DNA of a good article.
Allow me to explain.
An Actionable Headline Will Draw the Reader In
It needs to go like this:
You start with the headline. You tell the reader what you’re offering in the hopes that will draw them in.
You introduce them to the idea by laying out what you have to say in your introduction.
You then get into the meat of it with whatever advice you have.
